Shelton Girls basketball

The Shelton girls were finally back in action and fell 45-31 at home to Rochester on Monday at Terry Gregg Court.

Climbers’ junior Gabi Munro led Shelton with 11 points.

Ana Pinon and Jasmine Rivera each added five for the Climbers

Shelton briefly led in the first quarter and trailed 14-10 after one.

Rochester built a 34-24 lead at halftime.

The Climbers closed the gap to single digits several times in the second half, holding the Warriors to just 11 points after halftime, but could not convert on several key opportunities and scored just three points in the fourth quarter in the loss.

Shelton (0-8, 0-4) was scheduled to take on Tumwater on Wednesday and hosts W.F. West at home Friday.

Boys basketball

The Shelton boys basketball team (4-4, 2-2) have not played since Dec. 22, a 69-49 loss to Auburn Mountainview on the road. The Highclimbers hosted Tumwater on Tuesday and host W.F. West in an Evergreen Conference game today and travel to Aberdeen on Friday.

North Mason Boys basketball

The Bulldogs dropped a pair of games last week, falling 62-37 on Jan. 7 against Bainbridge and losing 61-33 to Olympic on Jan. 8 in Olympic League games.

North Mason (1-8, 0-6) was scheduled to travel to take on defending state champion North Kitsap on Tuesday and will hit the road on Thursday against Kingston and Saturday against Quilcene.

Girls basketball

North Mason fell to Bainbridge 46-31 last Saturday in the Bulldog’s first game in more than two weeks.

The Bulldogs (2-5, 0-5) are scheduled to host Bremerton on Thursday and North Kitsap on Friday in Olympic League games.

Bowling

The North Mason girls bowling team earned its first win of the season, defeating Sequim 3-2 on Monday at Hi-Joy Bowl in Port Orchard.

The Bulldogs were scheduled to travel to take on Klahowya on Tuesday and will host Olympic on Friday at Hi-Joy Bowl.

Mary M. Knight Boys basketball

The Owls earned a 44-40 win on the road against Lake Quinault in a nonleague game Jan. 8.

Mary M. Knight (2-5) hosted North River on Tuesday. The team has a triple header starting today at home against Oakville, traveling to Wishkah Valley on Friday and hosting Three Rivers Christian on Saturday.

Girls basketball

Mary M. Knight (3-4) has not played since Dec. 18, but the Owls were scheduled to face Black Hills’ C-Team at home on Tuesday.

The girls also have a triple header coming up, facing Oakville at home Thursday, traveling to Wishkah Valley on Friday before coming home to take on Three Rivers Christian.
