Andrew Wesley Bertrand was found guilty on two counts of first-degree child molestation on Dec. 14 in Mason County Superior Court.
Bertrand will be sentenced at a hearing Feb. 1.
According to the Mason County Sheriff’s Booking and Intake Report, Shelton Police took a report of two juvenile women stating Bertrand had touched them under their clothes. During a forensic interview with one of the juveniles, she disclosed that Bertrand was dating her mom and would stay late. After her mom would go to sleep, Bertrand and the juvenile would watch TV and said Bertrand would slide his hand under clothing and touch her inappropriately. She said Bertrand did this about 10 times and always acted like it never happened.
During a forensic interview with the other juvenile, she said that while Bertrand was dating her mom, Bertrand would reach under clothing and touch her inappropriately. After breaking up with her mom, Bertrand’s daughter stayed friends with her. There was one incident where the juvenile was sitting on the couch at Bertrand’s house with Bertrand and Bertrand’s daughter, and Bertrand touched her inappropriately while Bertrand’s daughter was using the bathroom. The juvenile told Bertrand’s daughter what had happened, it led to a fight. Bertrand was 43 and 44 years-old at the time of these incidents.
