Dedicated to the citizens of Mason County, Washington since 1886
Sarah Irene (Schroeder) Morgan, 42, beloved wife of James and cherished daughter of Rona & David Schroeder died on September 20, 2021, after a valiant fight with metastatic breast cancer.
Sarah was born February 18, 1979, in Shelton, WA. She moved to Belfair when she was four years old and attended school in the North Mason School District from kindergarten to graduation in 1997. Sarah and James Morgan were married on April 8, 2006, at Belfair Community Baptist Church.
Sarah is survived by her husband, James of the family home in Bremerton, her parents Rona & David Schroeder of Belfair, sister Emily and her partner Ozzie Ansari and nephew Corbin of Bremerton. She is also survived by her parents-in-law Bill & Vicki Burkhalter and Richard & Joan Morgan. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Java Bean Morgan, on April 28, 2011.
Sarah enjoyed role playing games, jigsaw puzzles, and reading. She knit, crocheted, and spent hours with counted cross stitch. She loved buying beautiful fabric and sewing it into quilts. She said that the Kitsap Quilt Show was really her party because it was held the same weekend as her birthday.
Sarah wanted her friends and family to share the joy of her life in a celebration of bright colors and happy memories. We will honor that wish with a gathering at the Kitsap Conference Center, 100 Washington Ave, Bremerton, WA, on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at 4:00 pm. Please wear comfortable, cheerful, whimsical clothes and be ready to share your very best Sarah stories. There will be tears but there will also be smiles and laughter as we remember her bright spirit.
Donations in her memory can be made to Kitsap Quilters Guild, PO Box 714, Poulsbo, WA 98370 or Kitsap Regional Library Foundation, 1301 Sylvan Way, Bremerton, WA, 98310, or supportkrl.org for online donations. Donations can also be made in her memory to any local organization that promotes reading or quilting.
