Stabbing puts student in hospital

An altercation between two students at Shelton High School on Monday afternoon resulted in one student being hospitalized with stab wounds, according to Shelton Police.

A news release from Shelton Police said the department is conducting a criminal investigation into the incident. The victim is in stable condition at the hospital while the other student was arrested and booked into Mason County Juvenile Detention Center.

The case is in preliminary stages and the department is working with school administration. Any witnesses are urged to contact Shelton Police’s Detective Division at 360-426-4441.

“A Shelton High School student was assaulted on Monday, September 20, at Shelton High School and received non-life-threatening injuries,” the Shelton School District said in an email statement to the Journal. “The District is currently working with the Shelton Police Department as they continue the investigation.”
