Russell Dean Harper, born on April 12, 1961 in Olympia, WA, passed away at a Tribal clam dig in Kamilche, WA, on September 9, 2021, at the young age of 61, in the arms of his beloved community, the Squaxin Island Tribe.
Russell was a Business Administrator, a traveler, a student of cultures, an activist for the members of the Tribe, a great cook, an unparalleled communicator and a wonderful husband and family member.
He is survived by his beloved husband, Brad Henry, his siblings: Rick Harper, Jason Koenig, Greg Koenig, Crystal and Janice Harper. His sisters-in-law: Cheryl Harper and Laurie Koenig. His nieces: McKenzie, Hannah, Angel, Summer, Claudia, Krystal, Kendra and Candace, and his nephews, Heath, Brian & Dustin.
Russell was preceded in death by his loving parents, Colin Harper and Ethel Martha Ann Whitener Harper Koening Tiroux, and his brothers and sisters, Chrystal Roxanne Fischer, Sabrina Trudeau Harper John's, Kevin Harper, and Colin Harper, Jr. "Troy".
You are cordially invited to the Celebration of his Life on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, 1:00 p.m. at the Squaxin Island Sacred Grounds. Meet at 12:30 p.m. at Little Creek Casino gravel parking lot for his "last drive" through the Reservation.
