Mason County commissioners approved a 3.4% rate increase for water and sewer systems owned and operated by Mason County in Rustlewood, Beards Cove and North Bay Case Inlet for 2022.
According to a news release, the increase corresponds to the April 2021 Consumer Price Index for the Bremerton Area. The increase applies to all charges associated with the referenced water and sewer utility systems, including monthly service rates, connection and permit fees and other related charges. It also covers the annual cost increase experienced by the county for operation and maintenance.
Notices will be mailed out to utility users. In Rustlewood, the 2022 monthly rate for water will be $42.21 and the sewer rate will be $112.52. Connection fees for water are $2,426.30 and sewer connection fees are $6,065.72.
In Beards Cove, the 2022 monthly rate will be $42.21 and the connection fee will be $2,426.30.
In North Bay and Case Inlet, the 2022 monthly rate will be $118.91 and the connection fee will be $11,954.72. The grinder pump fee will be $4,702.25 and a duplex fee will be $166.47. The grinder pump and empty lot fee will be $83.31.
In Belfair, the monthly rate per ERU will be $96 and the connection fee per ERU will be $11,300.
