Madeline Lillian Brown

Madeline Lillian Brown was born June 26, 1930, to Eli and Bella Wolden in Shelton, Washington. She was the ninth of ten children. Madeline lived most of her life in Shelton and passed away there on August 10, 2021.

Madeline was a 1948 graduate of Irene S. Reed High School and worked at the local J.C. Penney store until she married in 1950.

While family was her main focus in life, she was also active in her church and community. After her children were raised, she opened Nosegay Florist in Shelton and put her creative talents to work.

She was preceded in death by her three husbands': Burton E. Anderson, Russell Gene Rae and William M. Brown.

Madeline is survived by her children: Debbie Horton (Benjamin) of Texas; Dawn Rae (Dale Bowen), Dale Johnson, Diana Higgins, Russell Gene Rae, Jr., Paula Brown Fraisure (Todd), Andrea Brown Tibbits (Robert, deceased), Greg Brown (Genell) all of Shelton; and Mark Brown (Barb) of Sumas. She had 32 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild and a large extended family.

A Celebration of Life for Madeline will be held at 1:00 p.m. on October 2, 2021 at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church. A reception will follow at the Christmas Village Clubhouse from 2:30 - 4:30. NOTE: The current Covid-19 guidelines for both venues require all attendees wear a mask.

Remembrances may be made in the form of donations to: Mary Bridge Children's Hospital and Mt. Olive Lydia-Ruth Circle in Madeline's name.
