The 25th annual Fuddpuckers Draft softball tournament will be Saturday and Sunday at Callanan Park in Shelton. The tournament, which generally celebrates the end of summer co-ed softball in Shelton, starts at 9 a.m. both days. It will run until 5 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday. The greater Shelton area co-ed softball tournament remembered one of its own over the weekend, while also raising awareness for that which took his life. The Thor Dobson Memorial co-ed softball tournament took place Saturday and Sunday at Callanan Field in Shelton in honor of Thor Dobson, who died April 26 from an overdose. North Mason High School is renaming the wrestling room to honor former coach Ed Amick with a ceremony 3 p.m. Saturday in Belfair. Amick was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2013 in Stillwater, Oklahoma, for a lifetime of service to wrestling in Washington. The state of Mary M. Knight athletics is "projecting well," according to athletic director Tom Kerr. MMK had some trouble getting participation in some sports, including football and boys basketball.
