Grapeview woman dies in Kitsap crash Karen Britz, 62, of Grapeview died Nov. 23 in a collision on state Route 3 just north of Sunnyslope in Kitsap County, according to the Washington State Patrol. Britz was northbound when she crossed the center line and struck a vehicle driven by John Mors, 26, of Bremerton. Britz’s car then left the road, crashed into a tree and landed in a ditch, according to a WSP news release. Britz died at the scene. All State Honor Band includes four Bulldogs Four North Mason High School band students have been accepted into the 2024 Washington Music Educators All State Honor Band program in February. The students are Jack Buckingham, percussion; Raymond Felton, bass clarinet; Carl Lewis Jr., trombone; and Haleigh Scott, bass. Free Thanksgiving dinners at The HUB The HUB Center for Seniors in Belfair will serve free Thanksgiving dinners at noon Nov. 22 at the center at 111 N.E. Old Belfair Highway. Snow day extends district school year To meet state requirements of 180 school days, the North Mason School District has added one snow day to extend the school year. Students in the district will attend a full day school day on Friday, June 16. Monday, June 19 is the Juneteenth holiday and there is no school. June 20 is a half day of class, and the last day of the school year. The district states reminders will be sent to parents and guardians. Section of SR 302 closure begins today A nine-day closure of a section of state Route 302 at Little Minter Creek is set to begin at 9 p.m. today. Construction crews working for the state Department of Transportation will install two culverts to improve fish migration under the highway.
