The Shelton High School football team earned its first win of the season in a 33-6 win against Centralia in the Evergreen Conference opener at Jack Stark Field in Shelton. Shelton quarterback Mason Goos was 11-for-14 passing for 184 yards and three touchdowns. North Mason Girls soccer The North Mason High School girls soccer team leveled its record at 1-1 with a 3-1 win over visiting Bremerton on Sept. 16 at Phil Pugh Stadium in Belfair. Senior forward Abigail Green scored twice in the final 10 minutes of the match to break a 1-1 tie. Mason County recorded 149 cases of COVID-19 last week, decreasing once again from the previous week. As of Tuesday, there are six people hospitalized in Mason County with COVID-19 and one hospitalized outside of Mason County. There were two additional deaths this week. There have been 320 cases in the last 14 days and the rate per 100,000 has decreased to 492. Mason Health hosting Bikers for Babies Mason Health is hosting the second Bikers for Babies event this Saturday, Sept. 18. The Washington State Patrol celebrated their 100th anniversary Sept. 1, with a ceremony at the Capitol Campus in Olympia. The ceremony included WSP Assistant Chief Marc Lamoreaux speaking about the history, where WSP is now and where it's going in the future. Chief John Batiste was unable to attend the ceremony.
