Sunday, Dec. 18, 1949 Snow fell early in the morning and everything was so icy, but the sun came out and now at 2:30 it is beautiful but cold! Sam wrapped water hydrant then put away ladder and wrapped several boxes of salmon. I took salmon and candy to Skene’s. She was at church, so I stayed but a short time. Someone stole the camel bells I gave her. Sam went down to Rudy’s and got more boxes for salmon at the store. Everything cooking for dinner. Ruby called up. Said they had 3 inches of sno...
Sam and Mary are busy attending Christmas parties and having people over for dinner. It is getting colder and even starting to snow. I love Christmas time! Sunday, Dec. 11, 1949 We arose late and we thought of going to Seattle when Henry called up. So out he came, and we talked about an hour. He is so enthused over his Canadian job. Can only get home once a week so think he eventually will move up. To Seattle by way of Tacoma and it was a nice ride. We called on George McCorkhill at the Providen...

Wrote several letters then...
I really enjoyed reading this week's diary. Felt kind of sorry for Sam having back problems. Mary always refers to him going to the doctors for treatment. I bet you Mary and Sam mailed a lot of Christmas cards. Sunday, Nov. 20, 1949 Awoke early. So much shooting and the phone rang. Very foggy out. Delmar Deputy was down to see Sam about the truck, so we ate a late breakfast. Cleaned house and looked at all the beautiful favors Doris sent. Sam still has a stiff back, so he has the heat pad on...

Mary is home this week. She pulls the winter clothes out and puts the summer clothes in the attic. Sam catches a terrible cold, but that doesn't stop him from going hunting east of the mountains with Bill Cady. The weather is slowly turning. Sunday, Oct. 2, 1949 Today I put several lovely vases of flowers in the house. The one with red roses and red snap dragons is the loveliest by far. Cleaned my clothes and shoes and changed the beds. Put everything away so I can start a new week Monday. Mrs....
Have you noticed Mary and Sam pretty much have a hot meal every breakfast? Even if it is just pancakes? I had to laugh when she shares their pup walked on the freshly painted porch. Sunday, Sept. 25, 1949 We slept late, then I made pancakes for breakfast. Cleaned house and put away yesterday's washing. Cleaned my Chapter dress so it is ready for Friendship Night. At 2:15 I had completed the book as far as I can go without the rest of my pictures. Then Bud Bickle came down to mow the lawn and he fixed the lawn mower so it does not die when you let it idle. The...
Mary has returned home from her lengthy vacation. She gets into cleaning the house and getting her laundry caught up, doesn’t miss a beat and gets her hair done. I get a kick reading all the names of Mary's friends and acquaintances. Names like Leona, Vina, Ruby, Florence, Ruth and so many others. Names now that are used for newborns are totally different. Mary loves the outdoors. She loves the water and loves to swim. She lies out in the sun when she has the chance and I bet she was tanned. Saturday, June 4, 1949 Arose early and went to practice. Lovey wanted to move some stuff out of the locker so told me to come in early. But when I came in her...
